Tai Chi Yang Style
Tai Chi is low impact and puts minimal stress on muscles and joints, making it generally safe for all ages and fitness levels. In fact, because Tai Chi is a low impact exercise, it may be especailly suitable if you're an older adult who otherwise may not exercise.
Revitalize & Renew- Yoga for those in Healing
We originally designed this class for those whose bodies are going through healing from; autoimmune disease, cancer recovery, MS, injuries, though all are welcome to join this class. The focus of the class is designed to aid your body out of fight or flight into your Parasympathetic nervous system where your body is able to turn on its own healing mechanisms. A very gentle restorative class designed to sweetly stretch the body, teach you tools that you can use outside of class to help your body to harmony.
Level 1 - Beginner
The 1-2-3's of Hatha Yoga. Teaching you postural alignment that you can take back into the world as well as move you safely into and out of a pose. Much of this class is focused on addressing the body's misalignment tendencies. Each class addresses work with opening shoulders and the hips and lengthening and strengthening the spine.
Breathing, meditation and relaxation exercises will be covered as well.
The foundation you build here can serve you greatly in your life as well as progressing you into higher levels of yoga classes.
Level 2 - Continuing Practice
A challenging on-going class for those who have done yoga before or those more athletically inclined. More refined alignment in the postures will be given to continually improve and grow your practice. Strength building, backbends and inversions will begin in this class.
Level 3 - Inversions/backbends
An adventurous class of challenging poses and variations. We heavily use the alignment principles to go deep in shifting and opening the body. A full spectrum class with lots of focus on inversions, arm balances and backbends.
These are mixed levels classes. Classes are small and designed to focus on the students that arrive to that class. Modifications will be made for challenging poses and students are encouraged to share what they are needing to work on.
Yoga as Structural Therapy
Moving with ease and grace. Yoga Therapy to address injuries, chronic pain and repetitive strain disorders.
As no two snowflakes are alike, no two bodies are alike. Yoga as Strucutral Therapy sessions work one on one to address your unique misalignments in the body that cause or contribute to poor healing of injuries or chronic pain patterns. Most effective when worked in a minimum of 3 sessions. Ist session realigning your lower body(feet, knee, hip and low back issues), 2nd session addressing shoulders, upper body and neck realignment, 3rd session lengthening and strengthening the spine.
All Levels-Donation Based
These are donation based classes. Donation based does not mean free, but we are hoping to offer a way for those who can not afford good quality yoga teaching a chance to pay on a sliding scale, while also being able to pay the bills at the studio and pay the teachers. Suggested donation range $5-15 or if you have a pass card you can use one of your passes on your card.
